My aunt asked if my digital art was 'real' work
She saw my gallery online and said, 'It's so pretty, but do you get paid for those pictures?' It made me realize I still sometimes downplay the effort behind my pieces. How do you explain the value of digital art to family?

Moms have a permanent subscription to that particular question. It's like they get a handbook when you move out and that's chapter one. Mine will probably ask if I've eaten lunch while I'm chewing a sandwich right in front of her. The weird part is you start to miss it when they don't ask.
