My digital portrait hit 500 likes on Instagram and I'm honestly shocked

I posted a portrait I made in Procreate last Tuesday, just a simple study of my friend under cafe lights. It's not my usual style at all, more loose and sketchy. I woke up the next morning and it had blown up past 500 likes, which is HUGE for my tiny account. It really made me realize people connect with the messy, personal stuff way more than my polished portfolio pieces. Has anyone else had a piece take off that you almost didn't even post?

Have you tried using cloud storage for your work files? I keep my brush packs and textures on Google Drive now after losing a few custom sets years ago. It stings when that stuff disappears because you can never quite recreate it the same way. Maybe set a weekly reminder to do a quick backup, it takes ten minutes and saves you from that awful reset feeling.

Tell me you saved that brush pack, right?

My laptop crashed last week and I lost everything. I had that brush pack, three custom textures I made, and a whole folder of reference photos. It's all gone. I'm starting from scratch like a total beginner. You'd think I'd learn to back things up after the third time this happens.
