My tablet pen gave up halfway through a commission piece last night

I was about two hours into a detailed background layer when the pressure sensitivity just stopped working. The cursor moved, but every line was the same thin, hard stroke. I tried the usual fixes, restarting Clip Studio and checking the driver, but nothing. Ended up having to finish the rough sketch with my mouse, which took three times as long. Anyone know if Wacom pens can be fixed or is it just time for a new one?

That "same thin, hard stroke" problem is the worst. My old Huion pen started doing that, but it was just the nib being totally worn down. Swapping that out fixed it for me. Might be worth checking if the tip is just ground to a nub.

Oh, good call on checking the nib. That's often the issue. But with the Deco Pro, I found the pen itself can wear out inside, not just the tip. The spring in the button mechanism got weak on mine, so it lost pressure sensitivity. A new nib didn't fix that, I had to replace the whole pen.

Actually, Huion pens don't have springs inside the button.
