Update: My fantasy scene finally got into the online gallery

I spent like three months on this one digital painting of a magical forest. Adding all the glowing mushrooms and tiny fairies took forever... I kept redoing the light effects. The submission for the monthly showcase closed yesterday, and I was up until 2 AM finishing it. My computer is slow, so saving the high-res file felt like watching paint dry. But I made it just in time. It feels good to have it done and shared. Can't wait to check out the other entries now.

Months on one piece seems crazy to me. I'd rather make ten quick sketches than one perfect picture. @jake377 has a point about slow saves, but maybe the real problem is making files that are too big in the first place.

Months on one painting sounds about right for that level of detail. Glowing mushrooms and fairies would take ages to get right, especially with slow saves. Been there with the late-night rush against a deadline, it's a special kind of tired. Congrats on getting it in.

Those slow saves are the real enemy, @hollym82!
