Warning: My character art looked flat until I tried a new brush pack

For months my portraits felt lifeless, especially the skin. I downloaded the Jazza brush set last Tuesday and the difference after just two days is huge. The texture brushes add real depth that my old default round brush couldn't. What other brush packs have you guys found that changed your work?

I downloaded that same pack last year and it was like my art finally had pores. It made me realize how much we stick with default tools just because they're there. Like using the same old kitchen knife for everything when a paring knife exists. I've seen it with my friend who edits videos, she used the basic presets for years until someone showed her a custom LUT pack. The right tool just clicks something in your brain.

That kitchen knife thing is so true, but man, a good paring knife is still a kitchen knife. The real game changer is when you get a tool for a job you didn't even know existed. Like my buddy who does tile work finally got a margin trowel. It's this tiny little thing, but it lets him butter in the cuts for tight spots perfectly. He'd been fighting with his big trowel for years.

Yeah, it's like what @emery_craig said, we get stuck in a default mode with everything. I used the same boring font for years on all my documents just because it was there. Finding the right tool, even a small one, can shake you out of that rut completely. It just makes the whole process feel fresh again.
