Was resizing a canvas for 6 months without knowing about clipping masks

Spent all that time manually erasing outside the lines on my character art, then a buddy watched me work and said 'why not just use a clipping mask?' Thirty seconds later I felt like an idiot. Anyone else have a basic feature they ignored forever?

Honestly, did you ever find yourself just slapping a new layer on top and coloring it in the old school way after that? Tbh, that clipping mask trick changed my whole workflow once I finally tried it.

Yeah clipping masks changed everything for me too. I used to be so stubborn about doing it the old way with multiple layers and locking transparency. Now I just drop a base color, clip a new layer on top, and go wild with shading. Saves so much time and I can tweak stuff way easier without messing up my lines.
