I finally watched an agency pivot from fancy pitches to boring reporting
Last year our agency in Austin was all about flashy creative decks and big campaign reveals. Clients loved the show but kept ghosting us after 3 months. Then we switched every monthly call to just plain data walkthroughs, conversion numbers, spend, and what we actually fixed. Retention jumped from 40% to 78% in six months. Has anyone else seen clients respond better to dull transparency over the wow factor?

Ah yes, the classic "clients love the show but hate the bill" problem. We did the same thing last year, swapped our big reveal decks for a boring ass spreadsheet and suddenly the CFO started staying on the whole call instead of dipping after the pretty pictures. Now they argue with us about click rates instead of asking why the creative wasn't more "edgy". Funny how "what we actually fixed" (your words, not mine) turned out to be the real magic trick all along. I guess the wow factor only works until the invoice clears.
