Pulled off a $300 retainer fee last month from a cold email, first time ever
I've been running my little agency for about 18 months now, mostly doing local SEO for restaurants and shops. Last month I sent out like 40 cold emails to car dealerships in my area, totally expecting nothing. One guy actually replied and asked for a call. I jumped on a Zoom with him, showed him his Google Business profile was missing 90% of its photos and had wrong hours. He signed a $300 monthly retainer on the spot. That felt huge because I've never gotten anyone to pay me before even meeting them in person. The difference was I actually tailored the email to his specific listing problems instead of using some template I found online. Anyone else had luck getting retainers from cold outreach after struggling with it for a while?
