Saw a client's PPC results flip after 6 weeks of just ad copy changes

I used to think PPC success was all about bidding strategy and audience targeting. Then I took over a small plumbing client in Phoenix who was spending $2k a month with almost nothing to show for it. I rewrote every single ad headline and description to focus on urgent problems like same day service instead of fancy brand stuff. Within 6 weeks their cost per lead dropped from $45 to $12. Has anyone else seen that big of a shift from just changing the words?

My buddy did the same thing for a Chicago mechanic, 5x more calls in a month.

I used to be pretty skeptical about Google business pages making that big of a difference. But after seeing stories like this from @gray_roberts, I started paying more attention to local SEO stuff. Getting a friend's shop 5x more calls sounds like a game changer, not just a small bump. It makes sense when you think about it, since most people search for mechanics right on their phones now. That kind of result would definitely change anyone's mind about putting work into a Google profile.
