Why does every agency pitch deck say the same three things?
I sat in on 6 pitches from different agencies last quarter for a buddy's plumbing company in Toledo, and every single deck had the same slides: "we do data driven marketing," "we build custom strategies," and "we are your growth partner." Not one of them brought a single example of a plumber they had actually helped, and two of them could not even tell me what a good cost per booked job looks like in that trade. I work in a warehouse, and if I pitched a new racking setup without ever walking the floor, I would get laughed out of the room. So here is my question for the folks on this sub who run shops: do clients actually ask for case studies, or do they just nod along at the buzzwords like everyone in that room did?
