Appreciation post: My buddy in Lisbon convinced me to ditch the 4 hour work day idea

I was obsessed with that trendy schedule, but he said after 6 months it just made him feel rushed and disconnected from his projects. He showed me his actual calendar from last week, and seeing the deep work blocks for his client in Berlin totally changed my view. Anyone else try a strict time limit and find it backfired?

But what happens when the art starts selling? I had a buddy who painted on a short schedule like that, then he got a gallery show and totally panicked because he had built his whole life around having all that free time. The pressure to make more stuff on a normal work schedule just wrecked his process for a while. It's a sweet deal until it actually works, you know?
