Brought my laptop to a beach in Thailand and the salt air killed the keyboard in 3 days
I was working from Koh Lanta thinking ocean views would boost my productivity, but the salt spray slowly corroded the keys until the spacebar stopped working completely. I ended up taping a Bluetooth keyboard to my laptop screen for a week while waiting for a replacement part to ship from Bangkok. Has anyone else had their gear wrecked by a "dream" remote workspace environment?

Brought my old work laptop to a coffee shop with an outdoor patio once, figured it'd be nice. Some seagull flew over and dropped a half-eaten fish right onto the keyboard, stunk the whole thing up for days and jammed like three keys.

Hold up @the_robin, I gotta call this out. A seagull dropping a fish on a laptop is bad luck, sure, but half-eaten? That means another bird already had a go at it, or maybe a person tossed it. Seagulls don't usually leave leftovers, they scarf the whole thing. Either way, that keyboard was probably a biohazard after that.
