Coworking passes vs cafes, I keep seeing nomads burn $400 a month for nothing
I've been hopping around Chiang Mai for 5 weeks now and every day I watch people buy day passes at these fancy coworking spots for like $12 when they just sit on their laptop answering emails for 2 hours. Meanwhile I'm at a cafe with a $3 iced latte and the same wifi speed. Unless you need a private phone booth or a standing desk for video calls, what are you actually paying for? I tried the whole 30-day membership at one place, cost me $180, and I used the meeting room exactly zero times. Is the structure really worth it for the distraction-free vibe, or are we all just paying for the aesthetic for our Instagram shots? Curious what makes someone finally switch sides.

I read that most of those places survive on people who never show up anyway.
