Finally got my visa sorted after 3 months of headaches

I needed a digital nomad visa for Spain and the application was supposed to take 4 weeks. It took 13 weeks because they kept asking for extra documents no one mentioned upfront. One of those forms required a notarized copy of my rental agreement, which I didn't have since I was subletting. Anyone else have a visa process drag out way longer than advertised?

3 months for a visa sounds rough, I once waited 8 weeks for a work permit because they lost my file twice.

Ask @shah.ben if they ever got any compensation or apology for that mess. Eight weeks because they lost your file twice sounds like total incompetence, not just a simple delay. Did you have to reapply from scratch each time, or did they at least keep your place in line? I'm curious if pushy follow-ups helped or just made things worse with those people. Stuff like that makes you wonder if they even have a system that works.
