Heard a guy in a cafe say 'location independence is a lie' and it got me thinking
I was working out of a small cafe in Medellin last week and overheard this older digital nomad telling a newcomer that the whole idea of being location independent is a myth. He said you're always dependent on decent wifi, time zones for clients, and finding a place that doesn't drive you crazy after a month. Honestly, it stung because I've been telling myself I'm 'free' for two years now. But he had a point - I still plan my whole schedule around when my East Coast clients are awake. Has anyone else had that moment where the dream doesn't quite match the day to day reality?

Nah, you're missing the point entirely. Location independence isn't about having zero dependencies, it's about CHOOSING which dependencies you accept instead of being forced into a 9-5 cubicle.

Right, because choosing between paying rent and fixing your car is way better than a 401k.
