I used to think slow internet was fine until I met a guy in Medellin who lost a $2k client over a dropped call.

Ouch, that's brutal. I switched to a business plan with a backup hotspot after a similar mess. It costs more but it's worth it for the peace of mind.

That's a rough way to learn the lesson. A lot of jobs don't depend on perfect calls though. For plenty of people, decent internet is still good enough.
