Just got back from 3 months in Medellin. The coworking scene is completely different than what people online make it out to be.
Every blog talks about rooftop offices and fast WiFi, but most of the spaces I visited had power outages twice a week and were packed with people taking loud sales calls all day. Has anyone else found a quiet coworking spot there that actually matches the hype?

The whole "perfect digital nomad life" thing online is a total mirage. It's like when people post photos of their fancy dinner but don't show the burnt part. Most coworking spaces in popular spots are just crowded offices with bad internet, not the chill paradise bloggers sell you. Real life always has power cuts and loud people, no matter where you go. I've noticed this with every hyped up thing - the internet promises a smooth ride, but the actual experience is bumpy. You just have to hunt harder for the quiet gems, or accept the chaos as part of the deal.

Same thing happens with everything hyped up online. People curate the good parts and hide the mess. Even simple stuff like finding a quiet coffee shop in town - the internet says it's great but you show up and it's packed with loud kids and broken wifi. Social media just amplifies the old human habit of showing off only the wins. Real life is always messier, you just gotta learn to work around it or accept the noise.
