Just read that 40% of nomads in Chiang Mai work less than 20 hours a week
Found that stat in a Nomad List report from last month. Honestly makes me wonder if my own grind mentality is a bit outdated for this lifestyle.

Whoa, that's a wild number. But is it really about working less, or just working smarter in a cheaper place? Makes you question if the whole point is to trade hours for dollars or to actually live differently. Maybe the grind was just a means to get there, not the point of being there.

My buddy moved to Portugal last year. He still works his same remote job, but his rent is half what it was. The weird part is he didn't cut his hours. He just uses the extra money to take long lunches by the ocean. So for him, it was never about working less, just having a better life around the work.

Totally get what you mean. My own move to a smaller town was less about cutting hours and more about what those hours buy. That same paycheck goes way further here. So instead of a rushed coffee, it's a slow morning walk with the dog before logging on. The work didn't change, but the life around it finally feels like the main point.
