Lost a $500 client because of a stupid wifi issue in Bali
I was sitting at this cafe in Ubud with what I thought was solid internet. Had a video call scheduled with a client at 2pm my time. The connection just dropped right in the middle of me explaining my deliverable timeline. I spent the next 45 minutes running between three different cafes trying to find a signal that would hold. Client emailed me saying it looked unprofessional and they went with someone else. Anyone else had a gig fall apart because their internet betrayed them at the worst possible moment?

Hey, did you test the connection before the call or just assume it would hold up because the cafe looked busy? I've learned the hard way that checking speed once doesn't mean squat when the wifi gets overloaded at peak hours. Those Bali cafes with the "free wifi" signs can turn into a total nightmare when everyone jumps on at the same time.
