My portable monitor DIED in the middle of a client call in Medellin

I was sitting at a coworking space in El Poblado pitching a project proposal when my USB-C monitor just went black and never came back. It was my only screen and I had data on there I hadn't backed up to the cloud yet. Anyone else have a backup monitor or screen setup they swear by for situations like this?

Honestly I used to think a backup monitor was overkill but "my USB-C monitor just went black" made me rethink everything lol. I picked up a cheap portable screen from Amazon after my main one glitched out, and now I keep it in my bag as a peace of mind thing. It's saved me a couple times already when my laptop screen got wonky, definitely worth the extra weight.

@jamie794 yeah that black screen moment is terrifying lol. I keep a small one in my backpack too, just for that reason. The cable management is a pain but totally beats scrambling for a replacement monitor mid project.
