Pro tip: Check your coffee shop's power before you set up for a 4 hour work block

I was working from a cafe in Medellin last Tuesday and overheard the owner tell a regular, 'Yeah, the whole left side loses power if someone uses the blender and the microwave at the same time.' I had my laptop and a portable monitor plugged in right there. Sure enough, 20 minutes later, my screen went black right in the middle of a client call. I had to scramble to find a new spot and explain the sudden disconnection. It made me realize I never actually test outlet reliability before committing to a workspace. Has anyone else learned the hard way to scout for power stability in a new spot?
