Sat in a coworking space in Medellín and noticed something weird

I was down in Medellín for two weeks last month and every single person in the coworking space was using noise-canceling headphones even when it was dead quiet. Like nobody even talked to each other. Has anyone else found that digital nomad spots can feel more isolated than working from home?

Well actually noise cancelling headphones work even when it's quiet, it's about the quality of silence not just blocking noise.
