Spent $400 on a portable monitor in Chiang Mai and it's the best dumb choice I ever made
I was trying to work from a tiny cafe table with just my laptop, and my neck was killing me after two days. I bought a 15-inch portable screen on a whim, and now I can set up a proper two-screen workstation anywhere, even in a hostel bunk. Anyone else find a piece of gear that seemed silly but totally changed your work setup?

Doubt it's that serious but hey, @gonzalez.grant makes a good point about posture.

My chiropractor actually said portable screens often cause more neck strain than they prevent.

That's not a dumb choice at all. A portable monitor is a legit productivity tool, not a silly gadget. I used to think they were overkill until I tried one on a long train trip. The real game changer is how it lets you keep your posture right in weird spots. That $400 probably saved you a chiropractor visit later. What brand did you end up going with?
