Update: I tried a local SIM card in Lisbon for 3 months versus my old global eSIM plan
The local SIM gave me 100GB of data for 20 euros total, while the eSIM cost me over 80 bucks for spotty service that dropped calls constantly, so has anyone found a better global data provider that actually works?

Check if your phone supports dual SIM.

Yeah that price difference is brutal. I've noticed global eSIMs are basically just reselling local networks at a huge markup. For longer trips, buying a local SIM at a convenience store is almost always cheaper and way more reliable.
