Vent: 6 months to sort out my Thai bank account paperwork
I moved to Chiang Mai in March and thought opening a local bank account for my freelance income would take a day, but my visa type kept getting rejected at the counter. After 4 failed trips to the branch and a stack of notarized copies, I finally got approved when I brought a letter from my US client with a wet signature. Has anyone else burned this much time on banking setup in a new country, or did I just pick the wrong bank?
