Why does nobody talk about the tax mess after working from 3 countries in a year?
My accountant in Lisbon just told me I might owe money in Portugal, Germany, AND the US for 2023, which is a total nightmare. How do you guys handle filing when you've bounced around so much?

That tax mess is why I just pick one home base country now... it's not worth the headache.

Yeah but that feels like giving up, you know? The whole point is to be able to live where you want. The system is broken if it forces you into one spot just to avoid paperwork nightmares. I get the frustration, but settling for one base country just lets the bad rules win. We should be pushing for simpler laws for people who live across borders.

Have you seen those new digital nomad visas some places are trying? They're a step in the right direction for simpler rules, but they're still just patches on a broken system. We really do need a bigger fix for people who live in more than one place.
