WiFi died in a Lisbon cafe and I finally learned to carry my own router

Was mid-call with a client last Tuesday at a pasteleria in Alfama when their network dropped for the 6th time that hour, so I walked 15 minutes to a co-working space and paid 12 euros for a day pass just to finish the call, has anyone else built a backup network kit for situations like this?

Haven't you ever tethered off your phone and still had the cafe wifi mess with your VPN?
