Finally switched from Google to DuckDuckGo for my main search after a year of going back and forth.
Honestly, the difference wasn't in the results, which are fine, but in the peace of mind from knowing my every search for 'weird rash' or 'cheap flights to Vegas' isn't being logged and sold to build a profile on me.

It's wild how much we've just accepted being tracked everywhere. That peace of mind you get from a simple choice is becoming a rare thing.

That "peace of mind from a simple choice" line is exactly it. I saw an article about how even basic weather apps collect crazy location data now. Feels like you have to be a full time detective just to have some privacy.
