Found out my grocery store app sold my shopping list data and I saw the receipt of it in a weird place
I was scrolling through my phone settings last week and found a permissions page showing my grocery app had shared "purchase history" with 14 different third party companies. What really got me was seeing an ad for the exact prenatal vitamins I bought 3 weeks ago from my Kroger app, and I don't even have kids, my sister asked me to grab them. The kicker is I paid $4.99 a month for their "premium" membership thinking it meant my data stayed private. Now I'm sitting here wondering if every coupon I ever clipped got sold to who knows who. Has anyone actually gotten a real answer from a company when they asked what data got shared? I'm about ready to go back to paper coupons and cash only.
