I finally checked my phone's ad settings and found out Google tracked 47 of my app opens in one day
I was bored last Tuesday and dug into my Google account's ad center on a whim, and it listed 47 separate app opens it had logged just from that morning and afternoon. I always figured the tracking was vague stuff like location or search history, not a minute by minute log of me opening my banking app and my weather app. People keep saying you can't do anything about it so just accept it, but I turned off ad personalization and cleared the data and it stayed off for two weeks. What bugs me is that the setting was buried four menus deep and the default was on, which does not feel like a real choice to me. Has anyone actually gotten their phone to stop logging app opens completely, or is that just something we live with now?
