I keep seeing friends post their full birth date on public social media profiles...

After my cousin's identity got flagged for a credit check in Austin last month, I realized that single piece of public info is the golden key for a lot of those 'security questions' on financial sites, so what other basic info are we just giving away?

My buddy's mom got scammed after she posted her high school mascot online.

Ugh, that's so common now. It feels like any little detail you share online can get twisted into a security question. Makes you want to just stop posting anything.

Oh yeah, once something's out there it's basically forever (even if you delete it later, someone probably already screenshot it). It's wild how scammers can piece together these tiny little facts about your life from years of random posts. Makes me wonder if we should all just go full offline mode and never share another pet name or first car again.
