I used to think tracking cookies were no big deal until my mom's info got stolen
I always figured the whole cookie consent popup thing was just annoying and harmless. Last month my mom got a call from her bank about someone trying to open a credit card in her name. The bank traced it back to a phishing link she clicked after seeing an ad that was way too specific to her browsing history. That got me thinking about how all those little trackers add up. I deleted all my browser extensions that weren't necessary and started using Firefox with strict privacy settings. Did a similar thing ever happen to someone you know?

Told my husband for years those targeted ads were creepy and now I clear my cookies every single week.

Susan how many times a week would you say you're still seeing ads for stuff you searched? Cause I clear mine every Friday and it still feels like my phone is listening half the time. @the_susan you think clearing cookies actually stops the tracking or is that just a bandaid?
