My neighbor called me a glass house dweller after my smart lock story

He saw I had a $300 smart lock and asked if I checked who gets my entry logs. Now I'm wondering if convenience is worth handing over my exact comings and goings to a server somewhere.

I'd just start leaving my Amazon boxes on his porch and see how long it takes him to crack. Honestly, having a nosy neighbor is like having a free security system that also judges your pizza delivery habits. Mine once knocked on my door to tell me my package was there, which was nice, but then she stood there and watched me pick it up like I was going to make a run for it. Next time I'm gonna tape a fake spider to a letter and see if she still wants to be that invested in my mail. At some point you gotta ask yourself if they're lonely or just auditioning for a reality show about being the neighborhood hall monitor.

Totally get where you're coming from, that feeling of being watched is super creepy. It's a lot of convenience for giving up that much privacy for sure.
