Six months ago I shared my address in a forum thread without thinking
I got three spam packages and a weird handwritten note within two weeks, but after switching to a PO box at the UPS Store on Elm Street all that junk stopped cold - anyone else had mail feel safer after spending $28 a month?

Small correction there, the UPS Store on Elm Street charges $28 a month for their smallest PO box, but their bigger ones are like $40 or more depending on what you need. I got a medium box for my business mail (mostly catalogs and sample requests) and it's $35 a month. The post office boxes are way cheaper, like $10 for the smallest, but they don't give you a real street address like UPS does. That street address thing is the key for stopping the creepy stuff because online stores won't ship to a PO box sometimes, and they definitely can't look up your home address from it. So yeah, $28 is a solid deal if it keeps the weirdos at bay.

My PO box is actually the same price as yours and I swear half the reason I got it was so I didn't have to worry about weirdos showing up at my door. Still have no idea who sent me that one box of unsolicited beef jerky though, maybe they just really wanted me to have some questionable meat.
