Spent 4 hours trying to fix a family location sharing glitch

My wife and I share our locations through Apple's Find My so we can coordinate school pickup, but last Tuesday her phone showed me at a park 6 miles away when I was in my truck at a job site. I spent the whole evening resetting network settings, checking her privacy toggles, and even logged out of iCloud on both phones before realizing she had an old iPhone in her glovebox that was still pinging the tower. Has anyone else had a ghost device mess up your location sharing like that?

3 hours seems like a lot for a location glitch that ended up being a forgotten phone in the car. Your mileage may vary, but I wouldn't lose sleep over a few wrong pings when the fix is just checking old devices sitting around. Maybe just confirm she doesn't have any more surprise iPhones stashed under the seat or in a drawer before diving into network resets again.

Forgotten stuff always comes back to bite you, doesn't it?
