That moment my coworker showed me her 'private' Instagram was actually public

Last Tuesday at lunch, my coworker Sarah was scrolling through her feed and showed me a photo from her kid's school play. I noticed the location tag was live and asked if her account was private. She said "yeah, of course" but when I checked on my phone right there, it was completely open to anyone. She had no idea that setting had flipped after the last app update. Has anyone else had a privacy setting silently change on them like that?

Haha "she had no idea that setting had flipped" - man I feel that. I accidentally posted a selfie to my public Facebook a few years back when I thought it was just for close friends. It was one of those pics where I was making a dumb face eating a giant taco. My aunt tagged me in it and everything. It took me three days to realize the whole world saw that masterpiece. So yeah, I totally get Sarah's pain.

Four days. That's how long it took me to realize my "friends only" pregnancy announcement was actually blasted to my entire college alumni group. Nothing like telling 300 people you don't remember that you're having a baby before you even told your own mom.
