Unpopular opinion: letting your kids have unlimited screen time actually made privacy debates worse in my house
I set up parental controls after my 12-year-old accidentally signed up for a free trial that auto-renewed for $40 last month, but then she argued I was invading her privacy by checking the browser history - has anyone else had this blow up between protecting them and respecting their digital space?

Tell her the browser history is non-negotiable, period.

i totally get this, my 13 year old found my reddit history once and it was way more awkward than any browser history of hers. now we have a deal where i show her exactly what i'm blocking and why, which sounds great in theory but yesterday she just sighed and said "mom, i know how cookies work." parents can't win but at least we're all failing together, right?
