Update: My background blur dropped during a company wide call

So I was giving a report on a video call with everyone from my job, and I had this free app that blurs my background so folks don't see my apartment. Right when I was getting to the important part, the app crashed out of nowhere. My real room popped up, complete with my cat knocking over a plant and my exercise bike covered in clothes. People started typing laughs in the chat, and my manager joked about my 'dynamic home gym.' I mean, I used the blur to keep things private, but it totally backfired and now my team knows I'm messy. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not sure if the convenience is worth the risk of another tech fail. I guess the trade-off for using these digital privacy tools is that they can make things more awkward when they break. At least the cat was cute, so there's that.

Feel your pain when tech fails at the worst possible moment. Those background apps seem to love quitting right when you need them most. Your cat being cute was probably the only good part of that whole thing.

Seriously! My phone did the exact same thing during a video call last week. The whole app just closed right as I was showing something important. I had to reboot and join back like three minutes late. My dog just stared at me the whole time like I was an idiot, which honestly helped more than the tech did.
