Appreciation post: why I finally stopped fighting my wonky garage floor
I spent like 3 years trying to level my garage floor with self-leveling compound and it never came out right. Then I watched this old guy on YouTube who restores vintage cars and he just let his floor be uneven and used rubber mats under his jack stands. He said something like "a floor doesn't have to be perfect to do good work" and it just clicked for me. I had been spending so much time and maybe $200 on materials trying to fix something that really didn't matter for how I use the space. Now I just park my car and do my little projects without stressing over a 1/4 inch slope. Has anyone else just decided to work with their floor instead of fighting it?
