Can we talk about how cheap it used to be to make your own cleaner?
I was digging through my grandma's recipe box in the garage this weekend and found a card from 1978 for homemade glass cleaner, and the notes on the back listed the cost as 12 cents a bottle. It got me thinking about how much of what I buy now is just watered down vinegar anyway. I mixed up a batch after lunch and it worked fine on the patio door, streaks and all. Feels like we traded a jar of basics for a shelf full of plastic bottles somewhere along the way. Anyone still making their own cleaning stuff, and what did you swap it for?
