Remember when you had to buy a whole new can of paint for a tiny touch-up?
I was fixing a chip on my kitchen trim last month and tried using a dab of clear nail polish as a base coat first, and it actually kept the new paint from soaking into the old drywall. Anyone have a better trick for small drywall repairs?

Ever notice how we all become mad scientists for tiny home repairs?

Oh totally, @shane244! I read an article that said our brains treat small fix-it puzzles like a fun game. So we'll spend an hour rigging up a weird solution instead of just buying the right part. It's basically adult legos but with duct tape.

Adult legos with duct tape" is a funny way to put it, but is it really that deep? I feel like sometimes we just rig stuff because we're lazy and don't want to go to the store. Calling it a brain game makes it sound way more planned out than it actually is. Most of my "fixes" are just me being stubborn and cheap.
