Rented a floor sander vs bought a random orbital for my oak floors

Went with the rental for the whole living room. Regretted it after hauling that monster up three flights of stairs. Anyone else just skip the big gear and take longer with a smaller tool?

Heavy tools always sound like a good idea until they aren't. That's just how people end up owning a bunch of gear they barely touch.

Wait @shane751 you're telling me people actually buy heavy tools they never use? That's wild. Bought a jackhammer once for a single patio job. Sat in my garage for three years collecting dust before I sold it at a loss. Those impulse buys hit different when you realize you can't even lift the thing without a second person.
