Shoutout to the drywall guy who told me to stop using so much mud
I spent two years sanding for hours until he watched me tape a joint and said 'you're putting on twice what you need, that's why it's a mess.' Has anyone else had a pro point out a simple habit you were just doing wrong?

Cutting back the mud made my taping way faster and cleaner after that same advice.

Oh man, same thing happened to me with caulking. Guy walked past my bathroom, grabbed my tube and said "you're using a whole tube where half a tube would do, no wonder it's all over your fingers.
