Took 4 hours to hang one set of shelves - here's why

I was putting up some heavy floating shelves in my living room and thought it would be a quick 30 minute job. Turns out the stud finder kept beeping false positives because of old plumbing pipes behind the drywall. After drilling 8 pilot holes and patching 5 of them back up, I finally got them up at 10pm. Has anyone else dealt with wonky stud finders in older homes from the 1950s?

Gotta disagree with you here. I've seen way too many people get burned thinking small things don't matter. Like when I had a pal who ignored a tiny leak in his roof cause it was "no big deal" and ended up with thousands in water damage. It's the little stuff that adds up fast if you don't nip it in the bud.
