Why does nobody talk about how expensive paint sprayers are to maintain?

I dropped $150 on a handheld paint sprayer last spring for a big fence job, thinking it would save me time. But after just two uses, I had to buy a $40 cleaning kit and a new nozzle because I didn't flush it right the first time. The thing clogs so easy if you don't break it down completely, and now I'm back to using a roller for most stuff. Has anyone else found a cheap sprayer that actually holds up without constant upkeep?

Bought a cheap Wagner last year and it clogged so bad I just threw it in the trash.

Those cheap sprayers are a trap. You gotta clean them immediately after every single use. Like stop what you're doing and break it down right then. Warm water through the system first, then mineral spirits, then run some clean thinner through it. I learned the hard way too. Stick with a quality brand like Graco or Titan if you ever buy another one. They cost more upfront but the parts are standard and easy to find. A cheap $40 kit will save you a hundred bucks in replacements. Most people just don't realize how much upkeep a sprayer needs.
