Why does nobody talk about old screen doors with real wood frames?
I was at my buddy's place in Tulsa last weekend and his 1947 bungalow still has the original wood screen door, warped a little but solid as a rock. Mine is a cheap aluminum one from the big box store and it rattles and bends if my kid slams it once. His has been banging shut for 70 years and the joints are still tight, just needed a new screen every decade or so. Anyone know a good source for a wood frame kit, or should I just try building one from cedar 1x3s?
