A tile guy in Louisville told me to stop pressing so hard on my grout float and it changed my whole backsplash
I was at a small tile shop on Bardstown Road picking up a bag of unsanded grout when the owner watched me fumbling with a float and told me to loosen my grip. He said pressing hard just pushes the grout deeper and makes the clean up take twice as long, so I tried it on my kitchen backsplash with just light pressure in a diagonal pass. It took me about 20 minutes to do the whole wall and the joints came out way cleaner with almost no haze. Now I want to know, does this same light touch thing work on floor tile too or is it just for walls?
