I took a shortcut on a drywall patch at my sister's house in Phoenix and it caved in 2 weeks later
Do you go for speed and skip the mesh tape on small holes or is that asking for trouble? I figured a 4 inch hole in a closet nobody sees would hold up fine with just joint compound. Came back for Thanksgiving and there was a crack running all the way down to the baseboard. My brother in law gave me that look. Now I'm paranoid about every quick fix I've done in my own place. What's your rule for when it's okay to cut corners and when you just have to do it right?
