I used a cheap paintbrush on my kitchen cabinets and it was a huge mistake
I figured any brush would work, but after three coats, the finish was full of streaks and loose bristles. I had to sand it all down and start over with a better brush. Has anyone else had a project go wrong because of a tool you thought would be fine?

Loose bristles" stuck in the paint is a special kind of nightmare. I can just picture finding those little hairs stuck there forever after all that work. That's the kind of thing that makes you want to throw the whole brush out the window.

Oh man, tell me about it. I once spent twenty minutes picking a single bristle out of a dried coat, felt like a total clown. Davis.iris is right though, price doesn't always save you from that mess. I swear it's a mix of cheap glue and bristles that just don't want to stay together.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling! Doesn't it make you wonder if you should just buy the most expensive brush to avoid it, or is that a total waste of money? I've had cheap brushes that held up fine and pricey ones that shed like crazy. What even makes a brush do that, is it just bad glue? I'd rather have a brush that wears down evenly than one that leaves bits of itself in my work.
