My dad was right about my paint roller after all those years

I used to think he was just being picky when he said I was loading way too much paint on the roller. Finally tried doing three lighter passes on a living room wall in my house last month instead of one heavy coat. It actually cut down on drips and I didn't have to go back to fix those random thick spots. Anyone else have a parent give them a tip that turned out to save time?

Oh man, "loading way too much paint on the roller" sounds like something my mom would say about literally everything I do. Guess I have to admit they were right about something, even if it took 20 years to get there.

Hold on, I'm gonna push back here. I tried the three light coats method and ended up with weird lap marks where the paint dried before I could roll over it again. With one heavy coat I just drag it from corner to corner in one go and it looks way more even. Plus now I'm spending way more time on cleanup because I have to wash that roller three separate times instead of once.
